English Grammar: Articles

 Definition Of Articles: The adjectives that are used before a noun or a noun phrase to indicate the noun or noun phrase definitely or indefinitely in a sentence are called Articles.

Basically, the words “a”, “an” and “the” are called Articles. Among them, “a” and “an” are called Indefinite Articles whereas “the” is called Definite Article. For example:

A book = One book = Any book 

An egg = one egg =Any egg 

On the other hand,

The book = A certain book indicated  by someone.
